Our History

Established in 2007 by Kevin Lambert, First Moving Company set out with a clear goal — to make moving easier and to build a strong reputation as a trusted moving company in the Sarasota, FL.

Key Milestones

2007 – Foundation
First Moving Company was founded in 2007 by Kevin Lambert in Sarasota, FL. With just one truck, we focused on honest, affordable moving services.
2012 – First Expansion
We opened a second location and expanded into apartment, office, and light furniture moving. We added basic insurance movers protection and doubled our fleet.
2016 – Going Digital
We introduced online booking, real-time tracking, and route optimization. These updates improved our long distance, interstate, and cross town services.
2020 – COVID Response
Safety became our top priority. We kept operating under strict protocols and provided moving and storage to essential workers and families in need.
2023 – Smart Growth
Instead of scaling fast, we improved speed and reliability. We expanded services like Couch Movers, pool table, and Treadmill Movers, while focusing on local and last minute jobs.
First Moving Company will grow step by step in nearby cities. We’re building an app, expanding our fleet, and starting a mover training program for student and entry-level workers.
We may not be the largest, but we stay reliable, affordable, and ready—whether you need to move a full house, a single piano, or just a small appartement.
